Today I have a quick review of a polish remover. My good friend Courtney, who you may know as Phyrra told me about this a while back. I don't get to Target often and when I did I had forgotten all about it. I was given a gift card to Target for Christmas and set out on a mission to grab one for and also one for my mom.

This is a 9 ounce container and was $2.48 at my local Target. I found it beneath the nail polish section. This was the only type of container like this that they had. Luckily for me someone had opened one and so I was able to see if it was the right one. I have the kind that has the foam insert in it already and didn't really want another.

This is what it looks like when opened. Kind of strange looking huh? My first thought was that is going to hurt like hell, because the very top pink plastic is so hard and the inside looks the same. Then I thought well it is worth a shot for $2.48, besides Phyrra uses it and hadn't mentioned that it was like a torture device. I knew if I didn't like it that I could just pour the remover into an empty remover bottle and use it that way.

Mom immediately started putting different polishes on her nails when we got home just so she could use hers. It was pretty funny watching her apply polish and immediately dip her fingers in it to watch it work. I just chuckled to myself and let her have her fun for awhile before breaking the news to her. I had to tell her that yes it appears to be a miracle in a container, but that any remover would take wet nail polish off easily. The look on her face was priceless, almost like I had kicked a puppy LOL! I put it to the test with removing the polish I had on for about a week.

This was 2 coats of Zoya Ziv, I coat of Barry M Limited Edition silver glitter, a thin coat of Orly Rockets Red Glare and on the accent nail all of that with a coat of micro green glitter all of them topped with a coat of Seche Vite. That is a whole lot of layers of polish, not to mention how hard glitter is to get off. (This mani was worth it though. It was stunning and so sparkly. I wish I had been able to capture how pretty it was.)

When I pushed my finger inside the insert I was surprised at how gentle it felt. It is a softer but still firm rubber. If you have sausage fingers like I do it will feel snug on your fingers using it, but I think that actually helped with the removal. It took maybe 3-4 minuted max to get all the polish off of both hands. A few of the nails wanted to give me problems with the polish coming off. I just pushed my finger in and moved it around a few extra seconds and it was all gone.

I really like that the way this is made it allows the glitter to fall to the bottom of the container. With the foam type the glitter and polish just stay trapped right in there and leave you with discolored glittery fingers. I can see that the Target remover will be easy to empty, clean and refill as well. I like that alot! I wish I had thought to snap a picture of the glitter in the bottom of it to show you. It is an acetone product so be careful when using it and be sure to wash your hands after using it to get all the acetone off before polishing your nails again. 

I would buy this product again and again and again. I really do love it. I can't thank Phyrra enough for telling me about it. I am starting a new rating system for the blog, are you ready for cute overload?

Zoya Ziv and a few lights too!

Good morning everyone reading! Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have had trouble getting into the blog and couldn't make any posts. I've had a busier than normal week, I've been watching my great nephew who is always going and talking and talking and talking LOL. So let me show you what I've had on my nails most of this week.

Zoya Ziv

This is Zoya's Ziv from their Ornate collection. This is such a gorgeous metallic gold polish. It is like having gold foil on your nails. I only used one coat and had full coverage, no brush strokes or streaks. Also very minimal tip wear and no chipping after 3 days of having it on.

Ziv is such a great gold polish and can be used for so many looks. I think it could be used for an elegant dinner party look, a rockin New Years Eve look, and even for a fun every day look. It is definitely my favorite gold polish I own! I'm sure I will be using it alot.

In a group I'm in we do makeup/nail challenges. It is a fun way to get people excited about doing and sharing their looks. We always have so much fun with the challenges that Wendi the one and only Makeup Zombie gives us. At the end of the time we are given to come up with our looks, she then posts them to her blog for the world to see. This weeks challenge was Metallic, and I can't believe how hard it was for me to decide on what to do and use. That is until Ziv came in the mail! Here is what I did for the challenge.

Of course I started with 1 coat of Ziv, then I went to work on the lights. For the light strand I used an ultra fine point black sharpie and just drew the strand how I wanted it to look. I then took a dotting tool and used Pure Ice On His Saddle, Color Club Berry And Bright and Glitter Wonderland, and Zoya Ivanka to make the lights. That was it. Super easy, super simple, but super cute. I do think I may have gotten carried away and added a few too many lights though. I will suggest that if you use a sharpie for any of your designs to make sure you use a topcoat to seal it. It does rub off pretty easily.

Candied Violets for Yasmeen

Today I have a gorgeous polish combo to share with you. I will admit it took me 21 hours (Thank you Lynn for keeping track for me LOL I love you!) to decide what my undie color would be. I already knew what was going on top, but had a really hard time finding the perfect shade for under. Now I will tell you something, that color decision could have changed at any given minute depending on my mood. I think most folks who are polish addicts can attest to this happening to them as well. So here is what I ended up with. Starting with the top first, just to be different today.
Candied Violets is a glitter polish made by Hit Polish. The mini size (5ml) are $4, but keep your eyes open for sales. Rachel is always doing something special for her customers!

I can think of tons of color combos for this one!
This is the description given on their listing: A clear base with super fine orchid holographic glitter, fine matte white hex, small matte aqua hex, small white hex glitter, medium baby blue hex, medium matte lavender hex, large pastel green hex and large bubblegum squares. 
My description: A purple lovers paradise!

 I can't tell you enough how much I love the polishes from Hit Polish! They are so easy to apply they seriously go on like a dream. You can barely feel any texture from the glitters on your nails. I've never used a topcoat with any of my Hit Polish, and I've never had an issue with raised or snagging glitters.

I paired Candied Violets up with Yasmeen from Zoya.

 I got Yasmeen in one of my nail pal packages and am in love with the color. It is a gorgeous purple with lots of red shimmer and a bit of gold shimmer to it. I'm not always the best with descriptions so here is the official description from Zoya: Dark blue-toned purple base with very strong red-toned medium purple shimmer and hints of gold duochrome. The ultimate complex purple for maximum drama.

I have to admit I have had this on for a few days now and am a little sad to take it off. I truly love this combo.
